How does eye color affect red eye?

I'm doing a science fair project and it is on the affects different eye colors have on the red eye in flash photography. I can't find any information on it so if anyone knows any thing that could help me please let me know. How does eye color affect red eye?
In spite of the above four answers saying otherwise, I've had the experience that people with blue eyes will tend to have red eye in photographs more than people with brown eyes. I come from a family of blue-eyed people and I've seen many photos of people with various eye colors in the same lighting. Blue eyes turn red easier. I will not state this as scientific fact, but simply my personal experience.

Here you go. I found a Swedish site - where they have plenty of blue-eyed people - that supports my claim:

';It is more pronounced in pale people (blond, blue eyes, or light-red hair). It is also more pronounced in children.';

Maybe YOU can be the one who proves or disproves this theory. Be sure to take your pictures with all other factors remaining constant.

Have all subjects stare into the lens as you take the picture.

Have all subjects at exactly the same distance from your camera.

Have all subjects seated with their head at exactly the same level as all other subjects.

Be sure that the room light is always identical for all subjects.

Most of this would be aided by using a tripod. How does eye color affect red eye?
it dosent matter. the red eye effect means that that the person in the photo has good eye sight
Hi, perhaps you can also try google picasa.

picasa is a Google's photo software. It's what should've come with your camera.

It can Edit , organise and Share you picture and small video flips.

It's very easy to use and is free, just like Google

Download it free and just have a try:

Good Luck!
It doesn't matter what the persons eye color is,, it's the reflection of the light that hits the retina in the eye that causes red eye.
It doesn't. Redeye is a reflection off the INSIDE of your eye...off the retina. The colors involved are an integral part of how your eye translates light into sight. There is little variation and has nothing to do with the color outside your eye.

Different animals have different abilities with regard to sight. The make up of rods, cones, etc. and the color of those is different. They create ';redeye'; which is different. For example, humans have RED eyes while cats have a green glowing effect instead.

This is a far better idea for a science project. Get a bunch of different animals together and photgraph them in such a way that you get the redeye effect. Then research the differences in the animals retinas to explain the different colors.

One interesting variant that I have no idea what the result would be. Roughly 10% of the male population is color blind. Obviously, their retinas have a different make up than the rest of us. Ask a whole bunch of guys if they are color blind until you find one. Then, get a redeye photo from them and compare it to other people's.
Red Eye also occurs when the flash is too close to the lens. This is why all the really small camera now how a much higher tendancy to have red eye. I've never noticed a difference between eye colors. I have brown eyes and I get red eye all the time. My friend has light blue eyes and she gets red eye all the time.
