How long after a newborn is born would their eye color be considered their eye color for life?

It`s been 2 weeks and his eyes are still showing a grey blue color , just wondering if this is his natural eye color?How long after a newborn is born would their eye color be considered their eye color for life?

its actually around a yr when you can tell thats what all the books say although my son is 2 and a half and his eyes have been hazel/brown only for a short while before he was 2 his eyes were blue. my second sons eyes were blue but have already turned green and hes only 6 months i don;t think you can tell for sure until they are around 2 or 3 but the books say one
3 months is not accurate... It depends on the child. My son did not get the color of eyes he has now as an adult until he was nearly 5 years old. The color kept changing from blue to brown to green to blue back to green and ended up a hazel green with brown flecks...
after 3 months they will have their permnant eye color
I would say three months, give o take a couple of days.
It varies but around 6 months or so will be when youll know.
3 months is maybe average.. but there are children who's eyes don't change until a year! My little cousin was born with blue eyes and then after he was a year, they turned light brown, hazelish. It varies.. although, I think the majority of children's eyes change in the first 3-6 months.
It depends on the baby. It took my son over 6 months to change from grey blue to brown.
After my Daughter was born her eye's were blue but when she hit the 5 to 6 month in her life her eye's began changing to the green that they are now, not all children are the same but that's what mine did.
Id say roughly 6 months lol I was odd eyes until this time now both of my eyes are hazel brown .. so I think it depends . but I would defo say they would be set colour by the time baby reachs 1 year.
Sounds like it could be to me. I'd say give is a week or so longer and that should let you know. Even as adults, our eyes can change color slightly.
I have 2 blue eyed boys. Both of their eyes lightened up until they were 6 months. I believe brown eyes will remain the same after 3 months of age, but for blue or green eyes you won't know what color they will be until 6 months. Hope this helps!
Probably not, when I was born i had grey blue colour eyes and now they're dark brown.
I don't think that there is such a thing as a permenant eye color. I was born with Midnight blue eyes, and they stayed that way until I was 16. Now they are green around the pupil, then blending into grey then blue on the very edge. Yeah, they look cool, but I would have never guessed my eyes would change when I was 16 AND get stuck inbetween colors. lol

Oh no. Two weeks is no where near long enough. It can be up to two YEARS, but you will USUALLY have a good idea after 6-12 months.. although my eyes were sky blue from birth and turned green when I was 2 1/2 years old.
I am dark-skinned and my hair is black. I am Mexican. My husband is blond and blue-eyed. What a mix, huh? Well, she was born with beautiful blue-grey eyes as you mentioned and then I heard the dreaded, ';You know they are going to change, right?'; I was like, ';HUH?'; ';Oh, yeah, that color is temporary.'; I was saddened. To think of me producing a beautiful baby with COLORED eyes??? I FEEL blacker than black as my brother and sister are light-skinned but dark eyed and dark haired. ANYWAY I wanted to add her eyes were so spectacular they caught the light once and freaked me out with their beauty. The good news is : she is now 13 and a major beauty. Everyone that meets her says to me, ';She is beautiful. She doesn't look anything like you.'; (Thank you for the compliment.) Her eyes are still blue and change to green and grey. Gorgeous for somebody with such a dark-skinned, Mexican mom.

Most people say around 3 months. My son is four months old and his eyes are constantly changing. I have no idea what color they are going to be. A friend of mine said they can change to brown as late as seven years old!?!
I've heard it's usually in place by 1 yr. old. However my son is 15 months and there are still days when he hsa very blue eyes and then days where they are very green. Most of the time it stays on hazel, so who knows.
